A birth-chart system using twelve palaces, major and auxiliary stars, Four Transformations, palace relationships, and timing cycles. It is also called Purple Star Astrology in English.

A ten-year Zi Wei cycle describing stage themes, not a guarantee that a specific event must occur.

Hua Lu, Hua Quan, Hua Ke, and Hua Ji describe how emphasis moves between palaces. Schools may differ in method and weighting.
