What is Zi Wei Dou Shu (Purple Star Astrology)?
Zi Wei Dou Shu is a traditional Chinese astrology system that places main stars, supporting stars and the Four Transformations across 12 palaces from a birth moment. It is used as a symbolic framework for reflecting on identity, relationships, work, resources and timing.
How accurate is the chart calculation?
The placement calculation is deterministic: the same birth details and settings produce the same chart. Time-dependent placements rely on the time and place entered. We correct for birthplace longitude and the timezone in effect on the birth date. Interpretations are traditional reflective guidance, not verified predictions.
What if I do not know my exact birth time?
Choose “Time unknown” to cast provisionally. Time-dependent placements should be rechecked when a reliable birth record becomes available.
Why does birthplace matter?
The birth city determines longitude and historical timezone. Those values correct the recorded time, especially for births near a two-hour boundary.
How is Zi Wei Dou Shu different from BaZi?
Both begin with birth data, but their structures differ. Zi Wei Dou Shu reads 14 main stars across 12 palaces; BaZi reads the Four Pillars through Five Elements and Ten Gods. They can be compared, but their terms and decade-cycle calculations should not be conflated.
