It governs intuition, inspiration, the sixth sense, and unconventional learning (metaphysics, divination, medicine, craft, niche mastery) — the most insightful and singular of the ten. Its famous caution is 'the Owl seizing the Eating God' — the Indirect Resource restrains the Eating God, taking away its appetite, talent, and ease, so those with a strong Indirect Resource often seem perceptive yet uneasy, profound yet detached. Mastered, it is a rare specialist; unbalanced, it is solitude, suspicion, and idle reverie.

Those with a strong Indirect Resource are keen, clever, original in thought, sharply perceptive, and fond of digging into the obscure — they like to study alone in depth, often gifted at metaphysics, philosophy, technology, or art. At their best they have high insight, deep specialization, and the ability to see the workings others miss; at their worst they are aloof, suspicious, poor at expression, and emotionally distant, prone to overthinking, getting stuck in a corner, or living inside their own world. They make their way by a singular mastery, and should never be forced to be the easygoing, sociable Eating God.

The Indirect Resource favors obscure, specialized fields built on insight and singular skill: metaphysics and destiny study, religion and philosophy, research, technology, medicine, psychology, art, design, and craft — anywhere deep study, intuitive insight, and being unlike the rest are needed. Indirect-Resource people are strongest on a 'narrow but deep' track — doing the specialized work the crowd cannot or will not. They are ill-suited to follow-the-herd jobs that prize smooth socializing; give them one esoteric mastery to dig into, and they can become a master of their age.

Indirect-Resource wealth is won through singular mastery, niche skill, and seeing the opening first: doing one narrow thing to the utmost, doing what others cannot — a money road off the mainstream, yet potentially holding a small market's profit alone. 'The Owl seizing the Eating God' is its wealth caution — the Indirect Resource restrains the Eating God, dulling that steady 'talent-into-money' stream and making income irregular. The best case is the Indirect Resource nourishing the self and then turning to generate wealth (or paired with Direct/Indirect Wealth), monetizing rare insight — riches through specialization.

Indirect-Resource people are independent, reserved, and highly selective in love, valuing a meeting of minds and ideas over lively company, giving an impression of 'sincere but at a distance' — they need a partner who appreciates their depth and can grant them space. Those with a strong Indirect Resource often have a more complicated bond with the mother (or maternal elders) — classically it is the star of the 'stepmother.' Their lesson is not to let independence become a closed door, nor suspicion block intimacy — the profound, too, deserve to be approached with tenderness.
